Heritage
Sonno di Maiale™ is produced in a small-batch facility in Langhirano, the village that has been air-curing ham in mountain breezes since the Roman Empire. Our master slicer, Enzo, uses a hand-operated berkel to achieve the sub-millimeter translucency required for optimal light occlusion.
Each mask is sliced to order, individually laid on food-grade silk paper, and shipped in a refrigerated artisan box lined with rosemary sprigs because Enzo insists on it and we are not going to argue with Enzo.
Clinical sleep science tells us that darkness, temperature regulation, and olfactory comfort are the three pillars of deep rest. Prosciutto addresses all three simultaneously.
The unique micro-climate created between cured pork and facial skin maintains an optimal 28°C sleep zone. The scent profile — nutty, sweet, slightly oceanic — is indistinguishable from a Verified Comfort Aroma in three of four blinded trials.
